Sweet Potato Roots Regenerate in Microgravity

Ever since long-term space missions have been proposed for the future, scientists have been at a loss for a viable food source during the missions. In the past silkworms have been introduced as the “perfect solution”, but in reality quite a few vegetables would work well. Researchers have determined that sweet potatoes would be another idea candidate, since their roots are able to regenerate in microgravity, and sweet potatoes in general are a very hardy crop.
Canada Releases UFO X-Files For Viewing Pleasure

Following a few other European nations, the Canadian Government has opened up thousands of federal records dealing with UFO sightings to the public. The accounts, spanning over 9,000 different documents cover reports from the late 1940’s to the early 1980’s. Sources for the reports include Canada’s National Defense Department, Department of Transport, National Research Council, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
NASA’s GSFC Announces Plan for Spacebook

Federal agencies are notorious for being a bit “behind the times” in terms of certain web technologies, from website design to social networking to social media. NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) seems to be taking a step in the right direction with the announced launch of their new social-networking site called Spacebook.
